Shot Registration / Hit Detection

I know I'm not the only one who has an issue with the shot registration in the evo servers. My aim might not be the best but here's an example of how bad the reg. is: There's been several times where the target is stationary, as in AFK... I'm DIRECTLY in front of said target and the bullet somehow misses. What causes that? It's highly annoying.

The only time that happens to me is when I shoot but I unscope before I shoot so it gives the effects like I'm aimed in and I completely miss. This happens to me from time to time again :/Β sometimes shots do be feeling like it should of hit tho but thats cod4 for you.

very late to this.

to improve hit detection you can try the following commands:


- /cl_packetdup 1 (or 0 if you have a really stable connection)

- set /rate as high as possible, usually 25000 or 100000

- /cl_maxpackets 100 (or 125 if the server allows)

- /snaps 30


all of these commands impact how you send data to the server, along these commands, low and stable ping also helps. note that you might have unstable ping and not even notice the lags because of client-side prediction in cod4. the ping of the opponent also matters, as well as fps, (you should always have stable fps).
